May 2026 E-Newsletter

Meet 2026’s Paws for a Child Recipient!

We are so excited to officially introduce this year’s Paws for a Child recipient, Chadlyn.

Chadlyn is a fun-loving soon-to-be teenager who keeps her family laughing, loves spending time with her siblings and friends, and is looking forward to all the things that come with growing up, especially a little more independence.

Behind her bright personality, Chadlyn and her family have spent the last 10 years navigating the realities of epilepsy after her first seizure at just 2 years old. Since then, seizures, uncertainty, fear, and constant vigilance have become part of everyday life — impacting everything from school and friendships to sleepovers and even simple daily routines most families take for granted.

This year, through Paws for a Child, we have the opportunity to help change that.

From June 15th through June 30th, we will be sharing Chadlyn’s story and inviting our community to come alongside her family as we work toward providing a service dog that could bring more confidence, support, and freedom into her world.

Over the next two weeks, you will hear more about Chadlyn, her family, and what a service dog could mean for her future.

We cannot wait for you to get to know this incredible young girl and walk alongside her on this journey.

Stay tuned. June 15th is just around the corner.

Pints were poured, puppies were spoiled, and our community showed up in a big way.

What an incredible evening.

Pints 4 Pups 2026 brought together supporters, families, local businesses, volunteers, and puppy lovers for a night centered around one shared purpose, creating brighter futures through service dogs. Every conversation, every smile, and every person in the room played a part in making the night meaningful.

Events like this are about much more than fundraising. They are an opportunity to gather as a community and see the impact that happens when people come together to support a mission. Seeing familiar faces return, meeting new supporters, and watching people connect over a shared passion for helping others made the night truly special.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised $46,000 to help support Project 2 Heal and the work we do to breed, raise, train, and place future service dogs with those who need them.

A heartfelt thank you to our headline sponsor, Concert Stuff Group, and to the sponsors, volunteers, businesses, donors, and supporters who helped make this event possible.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to our raffle basket and silent auction donors: Precision Walls, Inc, Burns & Smith Families, MamaDuck Art, Diane O'Hare, PRP Wine, Country Club of the Carolinas, Well Loved Home, Whole Foods, Copper Leaf Farm & Vineyard, Mainstream Boutique, Hand & Stone Waverly, Scout & Molly's, Royal Reflections Southpark, Evereve, Sip & Cinder, Provisions Waxhaw, Maxwell's Tavern, Cork & Ale, Funky Monkey, Eight Legs Gallery, Pelicans Snowballs of Waxhaw, Emmet's Social Table, Uptown Tea Shop, Museum of the Waxhaws, Stacks Kitchen Waxhaw, Food Geek Eatery, Bead Merchants, Hidden Bin, Table 31, Flower Child, Harriet's Hamburgers, Viva Chicken, Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe, Chick-fil-A, Ilios Crafted Greek, Total Wine & More, AlxRox, Lower Left Brewery, Via Roma, Angelina's Italian Market, Small Hands Big Art Waverly, Rock Box Fitness, Whitewater Center, Waxhaw Escape, Bark Box, Nylabone, 3 Silly Pups, Chuy's Waverly, Yama, Carolina Ale House, Cabo Fish Taco, Burton's - Blakeney, Improper Pig, Flower Floozy Designs by Karen Earnhardt, Groove Nest by Nolan & MJ, The Moss Family, The Carrai Family, The Burns Family, The Brown Family, The Winkelman Family, The Patterson Family, Balloons by Nancy Marcoccia and Flowers by Liz Dawson of Harp & Pop Flower Shop.

Check out this year's recap…

We've added some new raisers to our pack &

you could be next...

We have exciting news from Sky’s litter. Briana, Alysa, and Chloe have officially started their next adventure and entered our Started 4 Service program.

Alysa has joined the Machusko family, Donovan has joined Sara M. and Chloe is now with Liz D. We are also excited to welcome these amazing new puppy raisers into the Project 2 Heal family as they begin this journey alongside their future service pups.

This stage is where the foundation starts to take shape. Puppy raisers play a huge role in helping our puppies learn confidence, structure, manners, socialization skills, and all of the everyday experiences that prepare them for future service work. The small moments add up quickly and help shape these puppies into dogs capable of making a life-changing impact.

Of course, puppy raising is not all training sessions and puppy homework. It also means puppy snuggles on the couch, watching personalities come to life, celebrating little wins, making memories, and laughing through the moments that every puppy family knows all too well. There are the zoomies around the living room, the random stolen sock incidents, the puppy eyes that somehow convince you they have never been fed before, and the moments where you suddenly realize just how much they have grown.

It is a lot of love, a lot of learning, and an opportunity to play a meaningful role in a future service dog’s story.

Have you ever thought about becoming a puppy raiser? We would love to meet you. We invite anyone interested in learning more to join us for our next Puppy Raiser Interest Meeting on June 13th at 10:00 AM.

Meanwhile, over in Cypress’s litter…

Cypress’s puppies are now 8 weeks old and growing faster than we can keep up with. These little ones have been busy soaking up the world one experience at a time, including their first field trips outside the whelping room and some very important puppy adventures.

They also recently completed their Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test, an important milestone that helps our team better understand each puppy’s natural temperament, confidence, sensitivity, and learning style. This information is incredibly valuable in guiding future placement decisions so each puppy can be set up for the best possible success in their next stage of training.

On top of that, these pups have been out and about on field trips, which are a critical part of early development. New sights, sounds, textures, and environments help build confidence and adaptability early on, laying the groundwork for calm, capable future service dogs.

Right now, life is a mix of wobbly exploration, big personality moments, and plenty of nap breaks in between all the growing and learning.

More updates from Cypress’s crew coming soon!
